Back-to-school season is exciting… but it’s also exhausting. Between new schedules, paperwork, evaluations, meetings, and lesson planning, it’s easy to run yourself ragged before September even ends.

But here’s the truth… the most effective therapists + teachers aren’t the ones who hustle 24/7. They’re the ones who protect their energy, stay regulated, and show up as their best selves for their students.

✨ A few small but powerful ways to make that happen:

Set a “hard stop” time on work each evening and stick to it. Emails can wait.

Batch your planning + paperwork during the week so weekends are freer.

Build in micro-breaks during the school day (stretch, deep breath, short walk); regulation isn’t just for kids!

Prioritize sleep + movement like you would a meeting. Your body and brain need it.

Say no to extra commitments if you’re already maxed out. Protecting your boundaries protects your effectiveness.

Your students don’t need a superhero who never rests, they need a present, regulated adult who has the energy to connect, problem-solve, and encourage them. 💜
